Summary:
Universal Avionics Redmond is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to support a variety of new and ongoing RDE projects that require immediate mechanical design support.
Candidate must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the field of electro-mechanical packaging, with an emphasis on 3D mechanical design.
Experience must include a strong background in solid modeling.
Experience working with Autodesk's Inventor Pro is a plus
Documentation, including ECO preparation and submittal
General knowledge of PCB layout, thermal management, EMI shielding and vibration considerations are required.
Familiar with sheet metal and CNC fabrication techniques.
Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with outside vendors, Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred or equivalent experience (5 years minimum).
- Working knowledge and familiarity with Agile (Configuration Control) is desirable.
- Familiarity with DO-160 requirements a plus.
